Course Outline
1st Meeting : Understand Electricity and Electron theory
2nd Meeting : Understand the current, voltage, resistance and the different units and their relation.
3rd Meeting: Apply the principles of ohms law and its application.
4th Meeting: Apply ohm’s law in solving simple problems.
5th Meeting: Know the conductors, semiconductors, and insulators with examples.
6th Meeting: Apply, the different types of electrical circuits, classification, characteristics, and their applications.
7th Meeting: Apply ohm’s law in solving problems related to the series circuit.
8th Meeting: Apply ohm’s law in solving problems related to the parallel circuit.
9th Meeting: Apply ohms in solving problems related to simple mixed circuits (series and parallel).
10th Meeting: Understand the wires and cables and their different sizes.
11th Meeting: Understand the classification of wires and cable such as P.V.C, V.I.R, C.T.S, T.R.S, PILCDSTA, weather, proof wire, flexible wires, cables, etc.
12th Meeting: Know the joints and their classification.
13th Meeting: Know the pigtail joint, simple splice joint, duplex joint, tap joint, Britannia joint, Butt joint and their application.
13th(a) Meeting: Understand the wiring hand tool and their sketches and their electrical symbols.
14th Meeting: Know the wiring and classification of wiring.
15th Meeting: Understand the merits and demerits of wood batten wiring, conduct wiring (Concealed & surface) and under plaster wiring.
16th Meeting: Understand the types of switches, Holders, ceiling rose, BDFB, buses & M.C.B and their applications.
17th Meeting: Understand ammeter, voltmeter, wattmeter, energy meter, ohmmeter, AVO meter etc. their connection and application.
18th Meeting: Know the wiring circuit diagram, one lamp controlled by one switch, one lamp controlled by two switches, one lamp controlled by three switches.
19th Meeting: Know the wiring circuit diagram for a simple storied building, energy meter, main switch, individual controlled switches for four points.
20th Meeting: Understand the wiring circuit diagram of a fluorescent lamp and its working principle.
21st Meeting: Understand the wiring circuit diagram of a fluorescent lamp and its working principle.
22nd Meeting: Know the wiring circuit diagram of two fluorescent lamps controlled by one switch and prepare an estimate on it.
23rd Meeting: Know a calling bell circuit with an indicator lamp and
describe its working principle and prepare an estimate for it.
24th Meeting: Understand a wiring circuit diagram (min 6 points) and prepare a list of materials required for batten wiring in a simple storied building.
25th Meeting: Understand wiring circuit diagram (min 6 points) and prepare a list of materials required for concealed conduit wiring for a single storied building.
26th Meeting: Understand a wiring circuit diagram (min 6 points) and prepare a list of materials required for surface conduct wiring for a single storied building.
27th Meeting: Underscored three-phase star –delta connection and its application.
28th Meeting: Understand the wiring diagram of a ceiling fan.
29th Meeting: Know the connection diagram to start a three-phase induction motor by the star-delta starter.
30th Meeting: Understand the earthing, necessity of earthing, process o fearing.
31st Meeting: Know the insulation resistance test of wiring installation by megger.
32nd Meeting: Understand the earth resistance test by earth testing megger.
33rd Meeting: Understand the decorating lighting including neon sign.
34th Meeting: Understand the traffic signal control circuit diagram for three ways and four ways road
35th Meeting: To acquire knowledge to distribute the single-phase balanced load from three-phase supply.
36th Meeting: Apply the principle of service entrance connection and its estimate.
37th Meeting: Understand the connection diagram for three-point and four-point starter.
38th Meeting: Apply the principles of the burglar alarm circuit.
39th Meeting: Understand the wiring diagram of a test lamp board and its application.
40th Meeting: Understand the repair and maintenance of different types of electrical wirings, installation, and their remedies
